Steve Bio

Hi,

My name is Steve and have been an instructor for Studio44 since September 2024. My background is in personal training with an emphasis on strength and conditioning as well as weight management. I decided to move into the Pilates space last year after rehabbing from a sports injury using reformer to build back my strength. Not only is it a versatile form ofexercise but a lot more fun than hopping on a treadmill or getting into the gym.

In my spare time I work locally as a firefighter, find time to get my own reformer sessions in and enjoy playing pretty much any sport. If it’s active it’s good! Like I mentioned at the start of this bio, Pilates has helped me with my personal fitness and wellbeing. With the help of Studio44 I really enjoy being able to help others with theirs.

Now if you are thinking of starting a class or are already enjoying getting stuck in, here are a few bullet points to what you can expect in my classes:

  • They are meant to be fun! I will always try to create an environment which is relaxed where we can be ourselves and can have a bit of a laugh.

  • They are welcome to all abilities. Whether you are a beginner or an expert, all exercises can be differentiated to suit your needs.

  • They focus on variety. If it’s cardio, strength, or flexibility, classes are designed to work a variety of fitness principles.

  • Finally, you may get a little sweaty. As an instructor I’m here to push you to get the most out of your time.

All the instructors at Studio 44 are brilliant and have their own unique style. Mine blends the familiarity of personal training with a more contemporary approach to Pilates. This results in a class that beginners can relate to whilst appealing to the more hardcore reformer folk out there.
